What is ArtisanMX?
ArtisanMX is an affordable local and remote monitoring software developed for the Network IP cameras due to their superior qualiy and robustness. Network cameras as opposed to Webcams do not require a computer to connect to. Unlike other software, ArtisanMX is free for viewing up to 2 cameras with the possibility of monitoring, recording and replaying up to 16 cameras at a small additional cost. The next generation ArtisanMX is currently being developed and will include even more powerful tools that will help you stay in control whenever you are away. ArtisanMX mobile (mobile phone version) is also being developed to give you even more control.

Adjust layout:

The user can select the size of the display window at run-time simply by clciking and dragging the mouse cursor on the camera view edge. The camera display is streched or reduced to fill the new size. Should you wish to return to the default sizem click on 'adjust layout'.

Options screen:

Background Colour Text colour: the text displays the camera name/number and the frame rate. When camera is recording, a red icon is displayed on the top right of the camera screen.

Default image size:

This option dictates what size the camera output is displayed at. If the camera is sending images of size 320*240, the image is stretched to fill the camera window which may result in display being stretched or too small depending on the number of cameras being monitored. Should you wish to retain the same image size as the one sent from the camera then select (tick) Default image size.

When automatic recording is selected, this is the video length measured in physical time. Record and replay: These options are only available after purchase. When these options are enabled, the user can record manually any camera or all cameras at once or set the automatic recording hours for each day of the week.

Compression:

The user can select any compression Codec required as long as the Codec is installed on the host machine. Most Codecs are freely available on the Internet.

Replay:

The Replay options allow the user to play back any video recorded. The file type used is the Microsoft's avi format.

Cameras are identified by their name, Ip address and port number. The camera name must be usinque for the camera to be added to the list. The login and password is the same as the one used to access the camera and defaults to 'guest' Port numbers use the 4 digits. so for example port 80 would use 8080. (i.e. add 80 in front of the port number)

Monitor:

There may be occasions where the list of cameras contains for example 16 cameras and the user wants to concentrate on only 2 of them. Just tick (select) the ones to monitor from this screen. All changes made are saved automatically.
